The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has approved a headset patent from Apple. The design concept is to combine a mobile phone with a headset similar to glasses, and then use the mobile phone software to present VR or AR images. This is the same as Galaxy Gear VR or Google Daydream, which are all mobile phone drivers.
This patent was only proposed by Apple in early 2015. In terms of the layout speed of virtual reality, Apple still lags behind other competitors in the market. The document pointed out that the VR device that Apple may introduce depends on the iPhone, but the body still has an independent processor, ROM / RAM, distance sensor, camera lens, touchpad, even Home key, reverse key, volume key, etc. There is also a focal segment dial beside the body to zoom the field of view.
Although the layout speed is obviously slow, but Apple is good at quickly bringing products or services to market. Analysts pointed out that Apple will launch its own VR services or products within one to two years, and will try to integrate Apple TV and Apple Watch into the VR ecosystem starting from the iPhone.
