Every month, we will call up all the medical patents in the newly announced patent bulletins of China and the United States, and look closely at each one and analyze it from the perspectives of law, patent and industry respectively. Huaxun's methodology is to analyze patents manually, but to informationize the results of the analysis through an electronic database.

At present, we analyze patents at a rate of about 500 pieces per month, and gradually accumulate information according to technical types and products. The monthly patent report is further refined from these data.

The database contains the original record of each patent analyzed by our patent researchers, as well as a detailed analysis of the patents selected in our monthly patent reports, so it can be said that each month's patent report is a condensed version, while the patent database is complete.

Therefore, if manufacturers have a deeper demand for patent information, they can not only order our reports, but also choose to purchase the authorization of our database. For those who order our database authorization, we will give customers a login password, through which customers can directly enter our database and see all the data they need.

At present, there are so many units engaged in patent appraisal at home and abroad, but so far none of them can obtain the credibility that the market unanimously accepts. The reason is that the neutrality and professionalism of the evaluation unit itself are insufficient.

As far as the former is concerned, many evaluation units are actually one of the two parties to the transaction to find for its endorsement, sometimes even after the price has been decided before the price, then its neutrality is naturally questionable.

In the case of the latter, many appraisers use financial analysis to appraise patents, and many appraisers themselves actually lack an in-depth understanding of patents (no domain knowledge), resulting in their appraisals inevitably being distorted. They like to use quantitative analysis methods similar to financial analysis in methodology. However, we believe that this method is not appropriate for patent analysis. Because although technology is energetic, patents are the product of words, and words are extremely difficult to quantify. If the same technology is expressed in different words, the scope of its rights will be different. Or if the components of the same technology are different in the claims, the scope of the two will be completely different. What's more, the method of quantitative analysis logically assumes that patents are valid, but in fact many patents can often be overturned afterwards.

ECC's methodology is an empirically oriented evaluation method, which is based on our long-term experience in reading patents. ECC will adopt a model similar to Michelin's restaurant appraisal, giving each patent an appropriate appraisal based on the experience of our analysts.

ECON is different from most of the valuation units in the market. First, our patent evaluation is based on our extensive experience in analyzing patents. Secondly, ECC itself does not provide an estimate of patent price, but we provide patent evaluation, which is an attempt to construct a mechanism similar to Moody's or Standard & Poor's evaluation of stocks or companies, giving the evaluated patents a certain rating (e. g. one star to five stars) and hoping to use this as the basis for evaluating patent price in the market.
