According to Nanjing Huaxun U.S. patent news, Apple has recently approved a number of new patents. Among them, the most eye-catching is the new breakthrough in human-computer interface. Users can control desktop computers or TVs through their eyes, "from a distance", the so-called eye tracking technology.
According to a report from Nanjing Hua News, the US Patent and Trademark Office recently approved a total of 48 new Apple patents, covering related fields such as man-machine interfaces, especially multi-user interactive interfaces. One of the patents numbered 9454225 is particularly eye-catching. The patent is called "Gaze Display Operation". This patent determines the direction of the user's gaze by receiving the user's eye image, and then finds the corresponding area on the computer screen according to the direction of the gaze, and operates on the content in the area.
It is speculated that Apple will apply the new eye tracking patent to PC and even to the TV that Apple will launch in the future. This technology is also expected to become a new selling point for Apple's new products to attract buyers and further stimulate sales. Apple's iMac desktop computer assembly plants such as Guangda and Hon Hai are expected to benefit.
Apple submitted relevant application documents for this patent in the third quarter of 2013, but it was not approved until September this year. The signature of the patent is an engineer from an Israeli PrimeSense company previously acquired by Apple. It is reported that Apple has applied for a similar new man-machine interface technology in May this year. The 23 patents approved at that time mainly focused on finger control.
