According to Nanjing Huaxun US patent report, the US Patent Office has recently released a number of new patents, among which the patent applied by Samsung in July this year has attracted people's attention. According to the patent, Samsung is likely to launch a foldable tablet with a stand in the future. The tablet has a three-stage design, and it's not known when Samsung will launch it.
In the patent, Samsung did not disclose what material to make this tablet. However, considering Samsung's existing technical capabilities, this tablet is very likely to use the flexible OLED that Samsung has been developing. At the same time, this product also comes with a bracket, which can well meet the needs of productivity and entertainment.
Samsung Display and LG are Display preparing to adopt ALD (atomic layer deposition) technology in the flexible OLED film encapsulation process, which will improve the life and performance of flexible OLED panels. Both companies are already working with partners to procure and validate ALD equipment internally. The research and development of the enterprise has been completed and began to enter the commercial stage.
In July last year, Samsung applied for a patent on the flexible screen of a tablet computer. The patent shows that the OLED display is foldable and can be integrated into an external device and bent together with the panel, while the LCD circuit board is on the outside of the display. Samsung has revealed that it will launch a foldable device next year.
