Nanjing Hua News: In terms of patent disputes, Samsung and Apple seem to be going on. Next month, the patent struggle between Apple and Samsung will enter the final stage, and the US Supreme Court will make a final judgment on the patent dispute between Samsung and Apple. At this juncture, according to foreign media reports, Samsung submitted a written opinion report to the US Supreme Court, reporting that Apple's status will open the door to abuse of the US patent system.
Samsung believes that it is completely unfair for Apple to require Samsung to pay the royalties of mobile phones with "full profits". Samsung only needs to pay 1% of the royalties. Lawyers pointed out that although some older Samsung devices are suspected of plagiarizing iPhone and infringing Apple patents, most of the design and functions of these Samsung devices come from Samsung's own patent concepts.
Samsung also used a car analogy. They mentioned that it must be unfair and unreasonable for an automaker to infringe on the patented design of a car seat, and then the patent owner to ask the automaker to hand over the entire profits of the vehicle.
"If Apple dominates, patent-holding entities will be able to exploit all the profits from a company's products on the grounds of patent infringement. This will open up a new area of litigation, which will undoubtedly encourage abuse of the patent system by stifling innovation." Samsung mentioned.
According to Nanjing Hua Xun, Dell, Google, Facebook and eBay have all chosen to side with Samsung, but obviously there are also many supporters standing for Apple.
We should know that the amount of money involved in this patent dispute is as high as 0.548 billion US dollars. I believe many friends are waiting for the US Supreme Court to make a final decision.
