According to Nanjing Hua News, a new patent of Apple has been exposed recently. This patent aims to solve the long-standing problem that iPhone is easy to be stolen.
Apple's iPhone has always been a key target for thieves, so Apple has been strengthening the iPhone's anti-theft function. On Thursday, Apple's latest patent was exposed, and the content of this patent is related to the iPhone's anti-theft. The patent application describes a scheme that stores biometric information of illegal users, which can enhance the security of mobile phone management and help the police to crack down on theft crimes.
According to Apple's patent application documents published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Apple's patent is called "Biological Information Capturing Unauthorized User Identity" Technology. It can collect the identity details of illegal or unauthorized users by using Touch ID modules, cameras and other sensors on iPhone and iPad (I .e. using Touch ID to collect fingerprints of illegal users, take photos of illegal users through the camera on the device).
At present, if an iPhone or iPad user unlocks through Touch ID, he has only five attempts. Once the five fingerprint unlocks fail, the system will automatically jump to the interface of entering a 6-digit password to unlock. Once the user fails to unlock the fingerprint for ten consecutive times or fails to enter the digital password to unlock, the unlock interface of the iPhone or iPad will enter a very long lock period, or the device will directly and automatically erase all its internal data (depending on the user's personal settings). In addition, once the device is locked, the restart and unlock time of the device need to be separated by 48 hours, or when the device owner wants to manage Touch ID and password settings, he must also enter the password to unlock.
In addition to the original lock on the phone, Apple's new patent can capture more multiple data information of illegal users through the device, such as collecting fingerprint information and photos of those who tried to unlock but failed.
Interestingly, the patent application also mentions how the device captures biometric data of unauthorized users and how it proposes a solution.
In addition to collecting fingerprints and photos when an illegal user tries to unlock, as long as the illegal user touches the device, the patent can also provide more biometric data of unauthorized users, such as recording operation time, device location, speed, air pressure, audio and other data in the background.
In order to enhance the security and anti-theft of mobile phones, Apple has added Touch ID to the original device password unlocking, which is faster, more convenient and accurate through the fingerprint sensor, and the security is relatively improved. The birth of this patent will raise the security of the iPhone again.
According to Nanjing Hua Xun, Apple submitted the patent application document to the US Patent and Trademark Office in April this year. The inventors are Byron B. Han, Craig A. Marciniak and John A. Wright.
