Although Apple has never publicly acknowledged its car development plan, "Apple makes cars" seems to have become an open secret in the technology industry. However, the company's first car-related patent was not a futuristic new car.
The U.S. patent number of the patent is 9,409,599. Judging from the illustrations, this seems to be more like a hybrid product: it is both a hinged bus and a truck using tracks. The patent was officially obtained on August 9, and the patent is called "steering device of hinged vehicle".
According to the U.S. Patent Office, Apple filed the patent in July 2015.
An Apple spokesman has yet to comment.
Needless to say, this is certainly not the first Apple car that fans are looking forward. But Nanjing Huaxun believes that the patent does show that after recruiting hundreds of thousands of employees for the car project, the company is finally beginning to experiment with some unique technology and development work.
