As we mentioned in the last push,The plaintiffs and defendants are all foreign companies, but they have chosen to come to China to file patent lawsuits.(Click on the blue word to review the original text), from which we can learn: China has become the main battlefield of patent litigation in the world. Which countries do these foreign companies come from?
In terms of the number of invention patent cases, in the past ten years, Japanese companies filed the largest number of invention patent cases, Germany ranked second, and the United States ranked third. Among them, Dyson (Dyson Technology) lawsuit has greatly improved the UK's ranking, accounting for 28 of the 37 invention patent cases.
It is not surprising that Japanese companies ranked first for the number of plaintiffs. Japan's geographical location is very close to China, which makes Japanese enterprises better understand the Chinese market, and is likely to produce interest competition. These factors greatly increase the possibility of these companies filing lawsuits in China.
Surprisingly, however, the number of lawsuits filed by South Korea companies that are also neighbors is extremely low, and they are far less active in their patent strategy than Japan. One possible explanation is that Japanese companies have long been active applicants for regional patents in China, which means they have accumulated a large number of combinations suitable for litigation. On the other hand, South Korea companies may not have a layout in China in this era, so there are not so many patents to attack, so there is such an extremely obvious contrast.
