Dua Lipa sued for copyright infringement on hit song Levitating

United StatesandAlbanian Singer Dua• Dua Lipa was sued for copyright infringement by music producer and songwriter Bosko Kante, who was involved in the creation of Lipa's 2020 hit "Levitating. If Lipa loses this case,SheIt could be ordered to pay up to $20 million in damages.
Kante composed a talk box track that was used in the original version of Lipa's song, and now he claims that Lipa used his track in the subsequent remixes of the song without his authorization. He explained that he and Lipa verbally agreed that the singer would only use the controversial track in the original recording of the song, and that he never allowed the singer to use his track in future releases and remixes of the song.
It's not the first time the pop singer has been sued over copyright infringement allegations, or even the second time. In fact, this is the Lippaine hit song 《Levitating is facing a third copyright infringement lawsuit. This should serve as a reminder of how important it is for amateur and professional musicians to have good written copyright licensing agreements (rather than verbal, trust-based agreements) with their collaborators.
