The judgment of this case upholds the view of the Copyright Bureau that works created by human beings are protected by copyright, non-human beings (e. g. animals, machinery, artificial intelligence) are not allowed to be the authors of works, and pictures and articles generated by non-human beings have no copyright and must be modified and adjusted by human beings before they can be called works and obtain copyright protection.
When a work contains images or articles generated using artificial intelligence, the copyright applicant is obliged to disclose the artificial intelligence-generated content contained in the work submitted for registration, and to explain the contribution of human authors to the work. Human authors will only receive copyright protection for their contributions to the work and their changes to the part generated by artificial intelligence.
